Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 22, 2026
Scope
This statement applies to the website https://adoptitaly.com and all its public subdomains. The statement does not extend to any native mobile applications, which are not yet published.
Applicable regulatory framework
This statement is drafted with reference to the following laws and technical standards:
- Italian Law no. 4 of 9 January 2004 ("Stanca Law") and subsequent amendments
- Italian Legislative Decree no. 106 of 10 August 2018 (transposing EU Directive 2016/2102)
- Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council
- Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523
- Technical standard UNI CEI EN 301549:2022
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 — Level AA
Conformance status
Partially conformant. AdoptItaly is partially conformant with UNI CEI EN 301549:2022 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known non-conformances and exceptions are listed in the dedicated section below.
Assessment methodology
The assessment was conducted through internal self-assessment, using a mixed method of automated technical verification and manual review. Tools used: axe-core DevTools (version 4.9.1), Google Lighthouse, manual source code analysis, and visual inspection of focus rings and colour contrast. No independent external audit by UNI 11621-3 qualified parties has been carried out.
Known non-conformances and exceptions
Criterion 1.4.3 — Contrast (Minimum), Level AA
The /login page header displays white text on a light background when the header is in transparent mode (before scrolling). Impact is limited: the page is rarely accessed directly; the main authentication flow uses the login modal overlay.
Criteria 2.4.3 / 3.3.2 — Focus order and Labels, Level A
The full audit was conducted on primary flows (login, checkout, gift redemption, account settings). Secondary flows (private/business registration, multi-step farmer onboarding) were only partially audited and will be completed in the next audit session.
Criterion 1.1.1 — Non-text content, Level A
Interactive maps (farm location, based on Leaflet and OpenStreetMap) do not yet provide a fully keyboard-navigable text alternative. Users unable to use the map can contact support to obtain location information.
Downloadable documents (PDF)
PDF documents generated by the platform (customer invoices, farmer documentation) have not yet been verified for accessibility tagging (PDF/UA). Verification is planned in the next audit phase.
Third-party content and services
The platform integrates the following external services, whose accessibility level is under the control of the respective provider and not of AdoptItaly:
- Stripe Checkout — payment processing (external hosted page)
- OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — interactive maps for farm location
- Sanity CDN — delivery of images and media assets
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4 — analytics tracking (subject to cookie consent)
